Take A Good Look At Your Boiler
Take a good look at your boiler unit, look for any signs of damage along the casing, controls or pipes. Common signs of damage to your boiler can include things such as the casing being cracked, rusty pipes and rusty bolts. Remember to look around and under the boiler, too – are there any puddles or other signs of leakages underneath your boiler? If you can open up the casing of the boiler, does it look as though there are signs of condensation on the inside? Checking The Pressure Levels
Check the water pressure gauge on the boiler, a boiler in good working order should read between 1 and 1.5 bar. If the water pressure gauge on your reads above or below this this indicates there could be an issue.
If the gauge reads below 1 bar, this indicates low pressure, which will lead to increased energy bills and risk of problems with heating your home. If the number is above 1.5, this points to high pressure which could be solved by bleeding your radiators.
